I have good news for those who enjoy classic PlayStation 1 games. Gamma, a new PlayStation emulator available on the App Store, now lets you play your favourite games directly on your iPhone or iPad.
What is Gamma?
ZodTTD, a well-known creator of tweaks and apps (including emulators) for jailbroken iPhones, created the Gamma PlayStation emulator. It only works with PlayStation 1 games, so there is no point in trying to run games from newer consoles like the PS2 or PS3. But that is not a problem, since you can have fun with old games like Gran Turismo and Crash Bandicoot.
What features does Gamma offer?
Gamma lets you save and load a game at any moment and sync your progress with a cloud service. In addition, the emulator supports MFi game controllers and custom skins. I tested the emulator with my iPhone 15 Pro and M2 iPad Pro, and it worked well with most games, although I did notice some audio issues. Gamma does not include any games, so you must also download the ROMs of the games you want to play.

Gamma is available for free on the App Store and requires an iPhone or iPad with iOS 15 or later. It is worth trying this emulator if you like retro games and want to relive classic PlayStation titles.
