Apple has announced the HomePod mini 2 and fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, two products that extend the connections between music, TV and the smart home. The changes include A19 and S10 chips, new ways to talk with Siri, and a four-speaker surround sound system.
Siri AI is the main feature of this update, but there is a crucial limitation for users in the EU because according to the information published, it will not be available in the European Union initially.
HomePod mini 2: S10 Chip and Sound Glow
The Apple HomePod mini 2 keeps its tiny form from the prior iteration and brings in the S10 chip. The processor tracks music as it happens, and adjusts its dynamic range, volume and acoustic performance.
One of the more major additions is Sound Glow. The top surface of the speaker has light effects that are synced to the music and the colors are influenced by the record artwork. The function also features animations for ambient sounds.

Key HomePod mini 2 Features
- S10 chip with computational audio.
- 360-degree sound, with standalone or stereo-pair use.
- Multiroom audio, to play music throughout the home.
- Sound Glow, with light effects that react to music.
- Support for Macs with Wi-Fi 6E or later, for use as a speaker.
- Voice recognition for up to six people.
- Smart home hub capabilities, to control compatible accessories.
- Sound Recognition, with alerts for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
- Five colors: pink, green, blue, white and midnight.

When Will Siri AI Arrive on HomePod mini 2?
Siri AI will come via future software update. You’ll need an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence to access personal context.
The new assistant, even without this gadget, will nevertheless offer general knowledge, more natural conversations and better music discovery in areas where it is enabled.
Apple TV 4K: A19 Chip and Voice Control
The new Apple TV 4K is driven by the A19 chip. Apple says its CPU is up to 50 percent quicker, and its GPU can give twice the performance of the previous generation.
The device also has three far-field microphones for interacting with Siri without having to click the remote button, even when content is being played. This function is controlled by the language you pick in tvOS.

Key Apple TV 4K Features
- A19 chip, with improved CPU and GPU performance.
- Dedicated AV1 decoder.
- 128GB of storage and Gigabit Ethernet, in a single configuration.
- Three built-in microphones, for voice commands from across the room.
- Siri Remote with Precision Finding through the Find My app.
- Built-in remote speaker, which can play a sound to help locate it.
- Siri AI with an on-screen interface, for questions about films and TV shows.
- Smart home hub features, with camera activity descriptions and notification summaries.
Som surround with Four HomePod Speakers
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K offers a four-speaker surround sound system with HomePod mini 2 or second-generation HomePod speakers.
Each pair must utilize the same speaker model ie two at the front and two at the back. The technology detects the position of each speaker and automatically adjusts audio timing and levels for the room.

Siri AI: Compatibility and Limitations
Siri AI will be in beta with tvOS 27.2, including on Apple TV 4K units from the second and third generations.
Personal context and smart home capabilities require an Apple Intelligence compatible device signed into the house’s owner. Eligible iCloud+ subscription is also required for camera recording descriptions.
