The fourth watchOS update adds a new watch face
The day before yesterday, Apple released watchOS 10.4, the fourth update to the watchOS 10 operating system, first released in September. A little over a month after the smaller watchOS 10.3 update, watchOS 10.4 adds a new watch face.
It supports new emojis
that were also added to the iPhone
watchOS 10.4 supports new emoji characters that also appear on the iPhone: a lemon, a brown edible mushroom, a phoenix, a broken chain, a vertical head movement (similar to a “yes” nod) and a horizontal head movement (similar to a “no” shake).
There is a setting that lets you turn off the Apple Watch double-tap feature when you use Vision Pro, as well as an option to show an expanded notification when you double-tap. Apple also fixed a bug that could cause “ghost touches” on the screen for some customers, an issue that affected the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2.
Includes new features, improvements and bug fixes
watchOS 10.4 adds other changes, such as:
- A setting called “Tap to Show Full Notification” now lets you double-tap to expand a notification.
- When you use Apple Pay with “Confirm with AssistiveTouch”, you can no longer double-press the side button and must enter an extra passcode for security.
- Fixes an issue that caused some users to feel false touches on the screen.
- Fixes a bug that prevented some users from syncing their contacts with Apple Watch.
