Apple is about to revolutionize the way we interact with our devices with the introduction of Apple Intelligence in iOS 18. This new suite of artificial intelligence features promises to make devices smarter, more adaptable and more useful, while keeping user privacy and security as a priority.
Apple Intelligence is an intelligence system that combines generative models with the user’s personal context to offer an experience that is even more relevant and useful. This system will be introduced gradually, starting with iOS 18.1.
iOS 18.1 version
- A few changes to Siri, including improved understanding of questions and better follow-up when you stumble over your words.
- Writing tools to rewrite, summarise or correct grammar mistakes.
- Notification summaries for Messages, Mail and other apps.
- Suggested replies in the Mail and Messages apps.
- A new cleanup tool in the Photos app that lets you remove people or objects from photos and use Artificial Intelligence to generate the background.
- The ability to create Memories in the Photos app just by writing a description.
- Call recording and transcription.
- Focus mode will be improved so that only important alerts come through, helping users stay focused.
iOS 18.2 version
iOS 18.2 will probably be released in December, which is when Apple said Apple Intelligence would become available in countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.
IMAGE PLAYGROUND AND GENMOJI
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg said that two more Apple Intelligence features will be available in version 18.2: Image Playground for generating images and Genmoji for creating emojis.
How Apple describes Image Playground:
It lets you produce original and fun images in seconds inside your apps. Create an image based on a description and even a person from your photo library. You can easily adjust the style and make changes that fit the context of a Messages conversation.
How Apple describes Genmoji:
Create a new Genmoji in the keyboard that fits any conversation. Provide a description to see a temporary emoji and refine it until it is perfect. You can pick someone from your photo library to create a Genmoji that looks like that person.
CHATGPT INTEGRATION WITH SIRI
The Cupertino company said that ChatGPT will be available through Siri before the end of the year. With the user’s permission, Siri will be able to show ChatGPT answers directly in responses.
iOS 18.3 and iOS 18.4 versions
Apple said that Apple Intelligence will be available in other languages including Chinese, French, Japanese, Spanish, German, Italian, Korean and Portuguese, among others.
