14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 brings improved graphics performance, on-device AI features, and better wireless connectivity. The design is the same as the previous edition. The U.S. price starts at $1,999 and it will be available on November 6. Announced on October 27, 2026.
M6 vs. M5: What has changed?
The M6 microprocessor contains a 12-core CPU with two supercores, four performance and six efficiency cores. You also get two more cores with the 12-core GPU than with the M5.
Apple claims up to 30% quicker graphics and up to 25% better performance in select AI tasks over M5. These are claims from the manufacturer, not independent benchmarks.
There are also two 16-core Neural Engines, for a total of 32 cores. Models with 24GB or 32GB of unified memory offer up to 170GB/s of memory bandwidth.
External display support gets better, too. The M6 MacBook Pro can run two 4K monitors at up to 165Hz (144Hz on the previous iteration).
Faster AI and Developer Workflows
Apple says the dual Neural Engine gives up to 1.9 times the performance of M5 on some workloads.
Apple claims up to 1.3x faster time to first token for large language models against the M5 MacBook Pro. Xcode project builds also get up to 1.3x performance.
Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Ports
Wireless connectivity advances to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The port selection includes:
- Three Thunderbolt 4 ports.
- HDMI.
- MagSafe 3.
- An SD card slot.
- A headphone jack.
The laptop carries on with its 12MP Center Stage camera. With fast-charge capabilities using a compatible higher-wattage USB-C adapter (such as Apple’s 96W adapter), you can get roughly 50% battery in about 30 minutes.
Liquid Retina XDR Display and Battery Life
Liquid Retina XDR Display with 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,600-nit peak HDR brightness An optional nano-texture glass reduces reflections.
The audio system features three microphones and six speakers with Spatial Audio.
Battery life up to 24 hours, depending on configuration, applications and conditions of use. That maximum does not guaranty 24 hours for intensive professional tasks.
